Corporate Tax questions, answered
The essentials on UAE Corporate Tax and how we manage it.
What are UAE Corporate Tax services?
They are the end-to-end services a business needs to meet its UAE Corporate Tax obligations: registering with the Federal Tax Authority, computing taxable income from its accounts, preparing and filing the return on EmaraTax, handling transfer-pricing disclosures, and deregistering when it ceases activity. AIMuhaseb covers each of these for UAE businesses under one roof.
What are the UAE Corporate Tax rates?
Corporate Tax applies at 0% on taxable income up to AED 375,000 and 9% on taxable income above that threshold. A Qualifying Free Zone Person can access 0% on qualifying income and 9% on non-qualifying income under specific conditions. We compute your taxable income from your accounts and apply the correct rate.
Who has to register for Corporate Tax?
All taxable persons must register with the FTA, including businesses expecting to fall entirely within the 0% band and most free-zone entities. Natural persons carrying on a business must register once turnover exceeds AED 1,000,000 in a Gregorian year. Registration deadlines depend on your licence issuance month or incorporation date, and late registration carries a AED 10,000 penalty.
When are Corporate Tax returns due?
The Corporate Tax return and any payment are both due within 9 months of the end of your tax period. A business with a period ending 31 December therefore files by the following 30 September. There is one return per tax period, filed on EmaraTax.
Is there any relief for smaller UAE businesses?
Small Business Relief allows a business with revenue of up to AED 3,000,000 in the relevant period to elect to be treated as having no taxable income. It is a transitional relief available only for tax periods ending on or before 31 December 2026, so it is time-limited and not permanent. We assess whether you qualify and whether electing it is beneficial.
Can you handle transfer pricing as well?
Yes. Where you transact with related parties or connected persons, we review arm’s-length pricing, prepare the TP Disclosure Form submitted with your return, and produce Master File and Local File documentation where the thresholds are met. This sits alongside your registration and filing so your Corporate Tax position is consistent.
