From reading up to getting it done

These guides explain the rules; when you are ready to act, we can do the work. Every guide links to the matching service — so a VAT guide sits beside our VAT filing services, and the Corporate Tax guides sit beside Corporate Tax registration.

Guide questions, answered

How our UAE accounting and tax library works.

What do these UAE accounting and tax guides cover?

The library covers the full compliance landscape for UAE businesses: Corporate Tax registration, reliefs, free-zone treatment, transfer pricing, and filing; VAT registration, returns, penalties, and the trickier treatments such as reverse charge, real estate, and designated zones; excise tax; payroll obligations including gratuity and the Wage Protection System; and day-to-day bookkeeping, chart-of-accounts structure, FTA audit readiness, and a glossary of terms.

Are the guides based on current UAE rules?

Yes. Every guide is written around the current Federal Tax Authority and Ministry of Finance rules and uses only verified figures — for example Corporate Tax at 0% up to AED 375,000 and 9% above, the AED 375,000 VAT registration threshold, and the 2026 excise rates. Where a rule is due to change or sunset, such as Small Business Relief, the guide says so rather than presenting it as permanent.

Where should I start if I am new to UAE tax?

Start with the two overview pillars: the UAE VAT guide and the UAE Corporate Tax guide. They explain who is in scope, the rates, and the deadlines, and they link out to the more specific guides — registration, penalties, free-zone treatment, and filing — as you need them. If a term is unfamiliar, the glossary gives you a plain-English definition.

What is the difference between VAT and Corporate Tax in the UAE?

They are separate regimes. VAT is a 5% tax on the supply of most goods and services, collected by registered businesses and filed on a periodic VAT 201 return. Corporate Tax is a tax on business profit, at 0% up to AED 375,000 and 9% above, filed once per tax period. A business can be liable for both, and the guides cover each regime in its own section.

Do the guides tell me how to actually file a return?

Yes. The how-to-file-a-VAT-return guide and the Corporate Tax return filing guide walk through the practical steps on EmaraTax, including what to prepare beforehand and the deadlines to hit. If you would rather have it done for you, each guide links to the matching service so you can hand the filing to our UAE team.

Can AIMuhaseb help beyond the guides?

Absolutely. The guides are the informational layer; when you need the work done, we offer the matching software and services — from the AIMuhaseb accounting platform to bookkeeping, VAT filing, and Corporate Tax registration. You can send an enquiry through the form on this page or talk to sales and we will point you to the right next step.
